Core Values

  • Our primary focus is leading people to a personal encounter with the Living God. We provide engaging experiences that provoke individuals to find relationship with Him and perpetually dig deeper into His presence. We teach how to hear & know God’s voice and to have the courage to bravely follow & obey Him on their personal faith journey.

  • We provide educational classes & leadership development programs that help our members learn & grow to be the most powerful and influential people they can be. We have an obligation as Christ's followers to continually improve & develop personally in order to honor Him with our best.

  • Relationship with God & relationship with His family are the most important factors in Jesus’ greatest commandment. We provide opportunities through small groups & organized functions to help members align with great people and build meaningful relationships. This is where we sharpen one another, learn transparency & healing, and release true freedom into each others lives. We are simply better together.

  • We're raising up leaders that give the best of themselves to God & their community. We uphold a culture of generosity demonstrated by Jesus and look for every opportunity to give with our finances, our time, and our lives. Our calling is to be the light of the world & a city on a hill. We seek to serve our families, our realms of influence, and the world around us at all times and with all we have.

Core Scripture

Isaiah 61

1 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
    because the Lord has anointed me
    to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
    to proclaim freedom for the captives
    and release from darkness for the prisoners,[
a]
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
    and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
    and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
    instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
    instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord
    for the display of his splendor.

They will rebuild the ancient ruins
    and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
    that have been devastated for generations.
Strangers will shepherd your flocks;
    foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.
And you will be called priests of the Lord,
    you will be named ministers of our God.
You will feed on the wealth of nations,
    and in their riches you will boast.

Instead of your shame
    you will receive a double portion,
and instead of disgrace
    you will rejoice in your inheritance.
And so you will inherit a double portion in your land,
    and everlasting joy will be yours.

“For I, the Lord, love justice;
    I hate robbery and wrongdoing.
In my faithfulness I will reward my people
    and make an everlasting covenant with them.
Their descendants will be known among the nations
    and their offspring among the peoples.
All who see them will acknowledge
    that they are a people the Lord has blessed.”

10 I delight greatly in the Lord;
    my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
    and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
    and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11 For as the soil makes the sprout come up
    and a garden causes seeds to grow,
so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness
    and praise spring up before all nations.

Oaks Church’s Statement of Faith

We believe in the Christian faith as taught by the Holy Bible, the sovereignty of Almighty God, the Deity of Jesus as the Son of God, and the person of the Holy Spirit who is alive and dwelling in the hearts of Believers today.

We believe the Holy Bible is the absolute, inspired message of God to humankind and is a blueprint for earthly living as God intended.

We believe that all life is sacred and that God is the source of life, that humans are created in the image and likeness of God and that every human life has eternal value. Therefore, it is not man’s prerogative to terminate life before birth or at any time afterward—including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, or any other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to value, defend, and protect all human life.

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. The two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God (Gen. 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

We believe that marriage is a holy institution given by God for the good of mankind and defined in the Bible as a covenant between one man and one woman—the relationship intended by God for sexual intimacy and the relationship for the propagation of mankind. We believe that God gives new human life to the union of a man and a woman and charges them with the responsibility of caring for and protecting that life with the help that they voluntarily accept.

We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, or the use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Matt. 15:18-20; 1 Cor. 6:9-10).

We believe this definition of marriage is based upon God’s will for human life as conveyed to us through the Holy Scriptures, upon which this Church has been founded and anchored. This is the only definition of marriage that will be recognized or accepted by this Church, and this Marriage Policy shall not be subject to change through popular vote, referendum, prevailing opinion of members or the general public, or the influence of or interpretation by any government authority, agency, or official action, or legal developments on the local, state, federal, or international level.

We believe in the local church as a part of the Holy Christian Church—an expression of Jesus Christ on the earth for the purpose of extolling His goodness, declaring His grace, and caring for His children. This Holy Christian Church exists in many Christian institutions. Her unity is spiritual, her culture diverse and transitional, and her mission eternal. We seek to cooperate with other Christian churches and institutions in the propagation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the edification of Believers, and the betterment of mankind everywhere.

We believe that while this human life is temporal and natural death is appointed to every human, the Gospel of Jesus Christ includes a provision for healing from diseases and deliverance from all forms of addiction and destructive behavior. This provision is available to all who place their hope in Christ and conform to the lifestyle behaviors taught in the Holy Scripture.
