Primary Elections in a mid-term year:

Why is it important for Christians to vote in every election?

Simple answer is because we have been given the gift of free elections and it is our duty to be stewards over our liberty and freedom.  Just as Adam and Eve were to steward the garden God placed them in. They are our examples… They failed and the rest is history. When we fail to take our vote seriously, the nation fails and liberty is lost.

Too often we take this awesome gift for granted. Life gets in the way, and we become complacent and lazy. Republics take more work to remain strong. We are Not a democracy but a Representative Republic subject not to man but to written law – the Constitution. Therefore, we must take responsibility for whom we elect to represent us. We need to be more invested in our elected leaders at all levels. The Local elected leaders make laws that impact us the most. They can even determine what we can and cannot do with our property. Therefore, we should always be cautious about who we elect as Mayor, Council members, School board members and County officials. Liberty minded individuals make the best civic leaders.

Every election is important and we should take each one seriously. Take time to investigate the candidates, go to candidate forums and ask questions.

On the national level presidential elections tend to get the most attention but once the president is elected to a four-year term the mid-term elections will determine whether he/she has the support of Congress to fulfill the agenda upon which he was elected. If that support is eliminated that effectively subtracts two years from his four-year term. Two years is an impossibly short time to accomplish what we elected them to do.

Pray, investigate and Vote!
