Dates: July 13-25
Cost: $5,100 (includes air travel, in country travel, meals, transportation, lodging, security, and other costs involved such as drinking water and internet connection.
Age: You must be an adult to go on this trip. If you are an older teenager (18+) and still live at home, you will need the consent of your parents.
Fundraising: It is assumed that some who feel called to go cannot afford the cost of the trip. Therefore, understand that reaching out to family and friends for support is a pathway to participating in the trip. We can help with this if needed.
General Trip Overview
Oaks Church will take a team of up to 10 individuals to Kenya to host a large pastors conference of 500 leaders from numerous east African nations. Beyond this, the team will work in several village locations in northern Kenya, one of which is the village Oak’s supports- Barsemoi. Below is the information available to be considered for this trip.
Attend the Interest Meeting- Sunday, January 7th, 10:45am in one of the glass classrooms in the lobby. All aspects of the trip will be discussed at this meeting.
Fill out the application which can be downloaded on this site. it will be processed by our mission’s pastor, Ron Hogue, and the mission team. You will then be contacted.
Be qualified to participate
Be a member of Oaks Church in good standing
If married, have the full support of your spouse
Be physically able to handle the travel challenges and to not have any major physical problems. The trip challenges will be discussed at the interest meeting.
Be financially able to participate without jeopardizing your job or financial situation. We understand that fundraising will be necessary for some who feel called to go.
To sign up for the trip, please click on the link below. Then download and fill out the application for the trip. You can either scan your application and send it to Pastor Ron or bring it on Sunday to be turned in. Once you do these things, you will then be contacted on next steps.
